As of October 1, 2021, the Danish hotel company K/S Atlantic has acquired Hotel Propellen, located close to Billund Airport.
Hotel Propellen is an international hotel with 94 rooms, 14 meeting rooms and a conference department, and has until the sale on October 1, 2021 belonged to SAS Pilot & Navigatør Pensionskasse.
Hotel Propellen is now handed over to an owner-manager
The hotel company K/S Atlantic wants to continue operating Hotel Propellen as before. The hotel will continue to be part of the city of Billund - and remain the city's hotel.
K/S Atlantic was established in 1977 in connection with the acquisition of Hotel Atlantic in Aarhus. The company owns and operates Hotel Atlantic, Hotel Kolding and now Hotel Propellen. With the acquisition, Hotel Propellen becomes the third hotel in K/S Atlantic's portfolio, but will continue to operate with the same profile as before.
From CLEMENS, partners Martin Beck and Morten Breum-Leer have been involved from the start of the acquisition process and assisted with legal buyer advice, including legal due diligence, contract negotiations and the takeover of the hotel.
Acquiring a competitor is a balancing act throughout the buying process. It requires mutual trust between buyer and seller when exchanging confidential information. For Martin Beck and Morten Breum-Leer, the long relationship with the buyer, openness and a trusting level of communication and information have been important throughout the acquisition process.
