Charlotte Højmark Sørensen works primarily with family/inheritance law and debt restructuring cases.

Charlotte is specialized and an experienced advisor in all areas of family and inheritance law. Among other things, Charlotte assists with the drafting of wills, marriage contracts, co-ownership agreements, future powers of attorney and the administration of estates of deceased persons. Charlotte also advises and assists in solving problems that may arise in connection with termination of cohabitation, divorce or separation, including division of property, spousal support and disagreements about custody, residence and access.

Charlotte also advises on family/inheritance law issues in relation to succession of businesses or other assets - often in collaboration with the client's other advisors. Charlotte can contribute with well-considered solutions to the family/inheritance law aspects, including, for example, drafting a will with provisions on succession, sequestration, trusteeship of sequestered assets, tax savings, etc. Charlotte also handles a large number of estates every year. Charlotte carries out the administration of estates both as appointed executor of estates and as Attorney for heirs who carry out private probate of an estate. Charlotte also acts as heir representative in estates where there is disagreement between the heirs.

Charlotte has previously worked as an assistant judge for a number of years. In addition to her specialist knowledge of family law and inheritance law, Charlotte has a broad knowledge of many other areas of law. This is a useful and sometimes decisive advantage when questions or situations arise in cases with interfaces to other areas of law.

In addition to family and inheritance law cases, Charlotte also works with debt restructuring cases. She has been appointed by the Court of Aarhus as a permanent assistant in debt restructuring cases, and Charlotte thus has in-depth knowledge of the rules on debt restructuring and the practical implementation of debt restructuring cases.

Clients often refer to Charlotte as easy to talk to and good at identifying the clients' needs and the best possible solutions for them - regardless of whether the clients' situation is simple or complex from a legal perspective. She is also often praised for her ability to explain the law in an understandable way and regularly gives presentations/lectures on family/inheritance law topics in e.g. associations, companies, networks, etc.
